Catalog

Catalog in the top bar opens a catalog of GTA V clothing from a folder on your computer. Try a garment on your ped, then add it with one click.

Choose a folder

  1. First extract the clothing into a folder, with your own tool or with OpenIV. How do I get the clothes? at the top of the catalog walks you through it with OpenIV: where the clothing folders are in the game’s archives, and how to export them. OpenIV keeps the game’s layout, one folder per pack, such as mp_m_freemode_01_mp_m_beach with jbib_000_u.ydd and jbib_diff_000_a_uni.ytd in it. Other tools put the pack in each file’s name, such as mp_m_freemode_01_mp_m_beach^jbib_000_u.ydd. PedForge reads both layouts, in every subfolder, and ignores files that are not clothing.

  2. Press Choose catalog folder and pick the folder. PedForge builds the catalog from the file names alone, so even tens of thousands of files take only seconds. Chrome and Edge remember the folder and offer to open it again next time; in other browsers, choose it each time. After you add or remove files, press Read the folder again. To use a different folder, press Choose another folder.

  3. Once the folder is read, PedForge checks it by the file names and sums it up above the grid: how many packs and garments it found, how many are for men and for women, and how many each category has. It also says what stands in the way, with the next step: that you picked the GTA V folder itself, that some .rpf archives aren’t unpacked yet, that some garments have no textures, or that some textures have no model.

Which folders to export, pack by pack, is a list of its own: the list of every path in GTA V.

Find and try on

  1. The rail on the left picks a category and shows how many garments each one has. Above the grid, choose Male, Female or All, and narrow the grid to one pack with Pack: All packs. The gender comes from the pack’s name: mp_m_ is male and mp_f_ is female. Packs whose name says neither are shown under All.

  2. Type in the search field to find a pack or a file name. A category code and a number, such as “jbib 12”, finds the twelfth top, file jbib_011. The codes are listed under Names in PedForge.

  3. Select a card to try the garment on your ped. It replaces what the ped wears in the same category, and the squares under Variants switch its textures. Trying it on changes nothing on your ped.

Add from the catalog

Press Add to add the garment to its category, with its alternative models and every variant. It is re-rigged to your ped and counts as an added garment, just like one from Add clothing, so it shows in the list of added garments. A message confirms it: Show selects the garment and Undo takes it out again, as undo in the top bar does. If PedForge does not recognise the garment’s skeleton, it offers Add anyway.

Nothing is uploaded. PedForge reads the folder in your browser and opens a garment’s files only when you try it on or add it. PedForge hosts no game files: the catalog shows only what is in your folder.
